On the Vision Pro, remember, they will appear to be life-sized, appearing either as a large window or an immersive environment that largely surrounds the user.Īpple sees this as a way of recording your memories. This has less wow factor but adds to the compatibility for playback. Combining them into one video is complex and achieved when the iPhone “scales the field of view from the Ultra Wide camera to match that of the Main camera, which is then saved into a single video file.”Īs mentioned above, if you play back these files on the iPhone or iPad, say, then you’ll just see a regular 2D video. This is clever: the two cameras have different focal lengths and sensors with different resolutions-48 megapixels on the Main camera, 12 megapixels on the Ultra Wide. How the iPhone 15 Pro captures spatial video. The 3D effect, which is highly compelling when you see the videos played back on a Vision Pro, is created by shooting video on two of the iPhone’s cameras at the same time, the Main and Ultra Wide lenses. They have a wow factor which, I suspect, will lead some potential customers to reach for their credit cards as soon as they’ve seen them.Īpple has more details of how the recording will work, explaining that they are captured at 1080p resolution, at a frame rate of 30 frames per second, and with standard dynamic range. Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, describes these videos as “magical.” Although Apple, like most companies, can tend towards hyperbole, I’d say there is something really extraordinary about these videos, which I saw in a demonstration of the Vision Pro some months ago. In a Newsroom post, Apple specifies how the two latest Pro handsets are now capable of recording spatial videos, describing it as “a groundbreaking new capability that helps users capture life’s precious moments” and watch them back on the Apple Vision Pro when it’s released next year. Alongside the release of the update, Apple has set out lots more details about spatial video capture on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Typing messages, or anything else, is updated so you can turn off predictions inline, although personally I love that feature. There are improvements to Messages, including body shape customization in your Memoji, stickers to add to messages as reactions, and security improvements to protect against spyware. Talking of integration, with this release Apple AAPL has added the capability to shoot video in a particular way that will integrate with Apple’s next big product category, the Apple Vision Pro headset. It’s designed to help improve your wellbeing and is stunningly integrated into the iPhone, all securely encrypted to help your private entries stay for your eyes only. Chief among these is the new Journal app, which helps you write about the stuff that’s happening to you. Unlike the last couple of updates, which were all about bug fixes and security measures, iOS 17.2 has lots of new features as well as the customary bug-squishing effects.

CamStudio review:User experienceĬamStudio is, in my opinion, a superior screen recorder that does not include any advertisements within the program’s interface. Because of its intuitive interface and wide range of functionalities, this program has proven to be an invaluable asset for meeting all of my screen recording requirements. In addition, you have the option of saving your recordings using the AVI file format or exporting them using the SWF file format. The user interface is very uncomplicated, which makes the program very easy to operate. Even better, it displays mouse clicks, which enables viewers to effortlessly follow along with what you are doing on the screen. The capability of CamStudio to export recordings in a broad variety of formats, each of which has a distinct level of compression, enables you to strike a balance between the file size of your videos and the quality of the video. You have the option to record the full screen, just the active window, or a custom-selected area that can even follow the cursor as it moves across the screen. Due to the presence of this capability, it is an ideal option for developing software tutorials. CamStudio gives you the ability to capture not just video but also still photographs at the same time as it records audio from either the speakers of your computer or an external microphone. Indeed, in a subsequent study, Zhou and Sylvain Chemtob, MD, described signs of premature aging in the RPE cells and photoreceptors in OIR rodents. “This is very problematic because starved photoreceptors cannot function properly, and that can impact the vision.” “The choroid is the major blood supply to the photoreceptors, so if the choroid is thin, it cannot deliver enough oxygen and nutrients to the photoreceptors,” she says. These study results suggest that choroidal involution is another component in OIR/ROP, according to Zhou. Only 2 eyes were deemed to have a normal choroidal pattern. Four eyes showed central hypoperfusion (ie, the hypoperfused areas overlapping the macula), and 4 eyes demonstrated peripheral hypoperfusion (ie, hypoperfused areas outside of the macula). With respect to choroidal patterns, 64 eyes (86.5%) demonstrated multifocal areas of choroidal hypoperfusion. About 7 of 10 infants (69.4%) had zone 1, stage 3+ ROP, and the average age at which they underwent IVFA was 9.7 months. The 74 infants with ROP had an average birth weight of 600.4 g and an average gestational age of 23.9 weeks. “That is because IVFA allows us to document the treatment effects.” “We use IVFA as imaging for all these patients require treatments,” Zhou explains. Three cases were excluded because of poor image quality and 2 were excluded because of severe phenotypes that precluded proper visualization of the choroid, leaving 74 cases for analysis. They initially identified 118 patients with ROP and included those patients for whom intravenous fluorescein angiography (IVFA) had been conducted, leaving 79 patients. Given the findings that emerged in their research with an animal model, Zhou and colleagues sought to assess whether a similar impact on the choroid could be observed in neonates. Following the initial choroidal degeneration, there is an increase in the number of pleomorphic and dysfunctional retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells, as well as a gradual decline in photoreceptor population and function. They found that in the first postnatal week during OIR, choroidal degeneration commences and the choroid remains thin throughout the life of the OIR animals. In previously published research, Zhou and colleagues used the oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) rodent model to study any possible impact on the choroid. Kertes, MD, CM, FRCSC) to explore the impact on the choroid of ROP, says Zhou. Tehrani, MBBCh, MSc, FRCS Ed(Ophth), FRCSC and Peter J. While the damages to the retinal vessels have been elucidated and well understood in ROP, the involvement of the choroid has not been thoroughly studied, prompting Zhou and her senior colleagues (Imaan Z. “The traditional thinking is that only the retinal vessels are involved, which would explain why anti-VEGF or laser therapies are used to treat it,” Zhou explains. She notes that ROP remains the major ocular disorder of neonates worldwide. “Conventionally, people think of ROP as an eye disease in the neonates, as its name suggests,” says Zhou, who is also an ophthalmology resident at the University of Toronto Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences in Canada. The retrospective case series involved infants with ROP who were treated with intravitreal bevacizumab or laser photocoagulation from 2011 to 2020 at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. She is a university lead at the Orbis Future Vision Leader program at Orbis Canada. Zhou also presented the data earlier this year at the annual meeting of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society in June in Québec City, Canada. Choroidal insufficiency, characterized by various types of hypoperfusion patterns, is observed in patients with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), according to Tianwei Ellen Zhou, MD, PhD, who was to present the data at the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting in November in San Francisco, California. They published Champions: Return to Arms, the sequel to Champions of Norrath, in February 2005. SOE has produced numerous EverQuest expansions and spin-off video games, including Champions of Norrath (for PlayStation 2) and Lords of EverQuest (Windows). This upset players and critics, with the level of concurrent players reduced to around 10,000 relatively few for the MMO industry. In November 2005, SOE added the New Game Enhancements to Star Wars Galaxies, changing many of the game's core mechanics. In January 2005, Sony Online Entertainment announced the creation of Station Publishing, a new label for distributing titles made by external developers. PlanetSide enjoyed a reasonably successful launch, however it never attracted wide popularity. In 2003, the company also explored relatively untouched MMOG territory with the massively multiplayer online first-person shooter PlanetSide and the PlayStation 2 MMORPG EverQuest Online Adventures.
